Fella & Jones is partnering with an established premium British womenswear retailer to appoint an experienced Executive Design Consultant for an immediate start. Operating at Head of Design level, the successful consultant will provide creative direction and senior design leadership across key womenswear categories, including daywear, workwear, and outerwear.
This is a high-profile consultancy assignment for an accomplished design leader who can quickly understand an established brand identity, provide clarity and direction to the design team, and balance creativity with strong commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide creative leadership across the womenswear collection.
- Lead design direction across daywear, workwear, and outerwear.
- Guide, motivate, and develop an established design team.
- Ensure seasonal ranges reflect the brand’s identity and target customer.
- Translate seasonal concepts and market insights into commercially relevant product.
- Partner closely with Buying, Merchandising, Product Development, and senior leadership.
- Review ranges, identifying opportunities to strengthen product, consistency, and performance.
- Maintain high standards of quality, fit, fabrication, colour, and design execution.
- Bring clarity and momentum within a fast-paced retail environment.
Candidate Profile

- Currently operating, or previously operated, at Head of Design or Design Director level.
- Extensive experience within premium womenswear.
- Strong product knowledge across daywear, workwear, and outerwear.
- Proven experience leading and inspiring design teams.
- A sophisticated understanding of the premium British womenswear customer.
- Able to balance creative vision, brand integrity, and commercial performance.
- Confident influencing senior stakeholders and collaborating across functions.
- Comfortable stepping into a consultancy assignment and making an immediate impact.
- Available to start at short notice.
