Senior Design Engineer
Derby – 4 or 5 days per week in the office, potentially 1 day per week from home
Inside IR35 or permanent staff role
Nuclear sector – open to experience from other highly regulated sectors
A Senior Design Engineer is required to work for a large Nuclear company based in Derby on either an inside IR35 contract basis or a permanent staff basis.
This role will be ideal for a candidate with experience in either the Nuclear sector or other highly regulated sectors such as Aerospace/ Defence
Flexibility will be provided with the software experience
Your Missions:
- Design components to customer spec
- Create models and drawings with CAD
- As the Senior Design Engineer, you will research new ideas and methods
- Improve products and processes
- Modify designs for requirements
- Ensure safety compliance
- Find creative solutions
- As the Senior Design Engineer, you will support junior team members
- Present designs to customers

Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Senior Design Engineer or similar role
- As the Senior Design Engineer, you will have the ability to work with the Mechanical Engineering Team to realize ideas
- Understanding of safety legislation
- As the Senior Design Engineer, you will have a high degree of knowledge around Design for Manufacture
- Familiarity with 3D CAD systems (Siemens NX or similar) for model and drawing creation
- Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar)
- As the Senior Design Engineer, you will have a professional qualification in an engineering related field
