Job Purpose
We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join the Core Tech Valves team in Dunfermline.
The Senior Design Engineer develops and delivers engineering solutions for Surface Valve products throughout their lifecycle, supporting new product development, product improvements, sustaining engineering, and product rationalization activities. Applies technical expertise to ensure solutions are safe, reliable, manufacturable, cost-effective, and compliant with applicable customer requirements, industry standards, and TechnipFMC processes.
Supports Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) activities by contributing to product development, qualification, standardization, engineering change management, and continuous improvement initiatives across the Surface Valve portfolio.
Job Description
- Performs engineering analysis, design, validation, and technical assessments to support Surface Valve product development and sustaining engineering activities.
- Contributes to new product development, product enhancements, qualification programs, and technology improvement initiatives.
- Supports Product Lifecycle Management activities including engineering changes, product updates, standardization, obsolescence management, and product rationalization.
- Prepares and reviews technical documentation including design calculations, specifications, qualification reports, test procedures, and engineering deliverables.
- Ensures engineering solutions comply with customer requirements, applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and TechnipFMC engineering processes.
- Participates in product verification, validation, qualification testing, and field performance evaluations.
- Supports investigation of technical issues, field feedback, non-conformances, and reliability concerns, contributing to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Collaborates with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Operations, and Commercial teams to support product improvements and issue resolution.
- Provides technical support for tenders, project execution activities, and customer requests.
- Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, reliability, manufacturability, standardization, and cost optimization.
- Interfaces with global engineering teams to support consistent application of engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
- Promote and actively support TechnipFMC's culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

You Are Meant For This Job If
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in valve design, pressure control equipment, wellhead systems, production equipment, or related engineering fields.
- Experience in product development, sustaining engineering, or product lifecycle management.
- Proficiency with engineering design, PLM, and document management systems.
- Understanding of valve technologies, pressure-containing equipment, materials, sealing systems, and mechanical design principles.
- Experience preparing engineering calculations, technical documentation, and qualification deliverables.
- Familiarity with API 6A or related industry standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to translate customer and business requirements into practical engineering solutions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary and global environment.
