Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

ARCA is delighted to be partnering with a specialist engineering manufacturer to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering business developing complex mechanical products used in demanding real-world environments.

The successful candidate will take ownership of product design activities from concept through to manufacture, working closely with production, supply chain and wider engineering teams to deliver innovative and robust solutions.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical products and assemblies.
  • Produce 3D CAD models, drawings and technical documentation.
  • Perform engineering calculations and design validation activities.
  • Drive Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support prototype development, testing and product improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Support junior engineers through technical mentoring and guidance.

About You

We're keen to speak with engineers who have:

  • Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Significant experience in mechanical product design.
  • Advanced 3D CAD capability, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Experience designing manufactured products rather than one-off concepts.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication, machining and assembly processes.
  • Experience taking products from concept through to production.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable

  • FEA experience.
  • Experience within machinery, vehicles, industrial equipment, robotics or similar sectors.
  • Familiarity with product testing and validation.
