About The Role
Hays is seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join their esteemed Power team within a prominent engineering and infrastructure organization. This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to lead the design and implementation of AC and DC power supply projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of power systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering innovative solutions in a highly regulated environment. The position requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for engineering excellence.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in power system design and engineering
- Professional certifications such as Chartered Engineer status or equivalent (highly desirable)
- Proven track record in designing AC and DC power supply systems
- Familiarity in regulatory compliance and safety standards
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Capacity to lead multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of power supply systems, including both AC and DC configurations
- Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and other engineering teams to ensure project specifications are met within budget and timeline constraints
- Conduct detailed technical analyses
- Create comprehensive design documentation
- Perform system modeling and simulations
- Oversee the procurement process
- Evaluate vendor proposals
- Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards and safety regulations
- Mentor junior engineers
- Provide technical guidance
- Participate in project reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize system performance and reliability
