Job Opportunity: Senior Design Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Design Engineer based in United Kingdom.

This role offers the opportunity to shape a world-class digital experience by combining advanced frontend engineering with exceptional design craftsmanship.

You will take ownership of a key marketing platform, creating high-quality web experiences that influence how customers discover and engage with a product.

Working at the intersection of design and engineering, you will transform creative concepts into performant, accessible, and polished digital experiences.

The position is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex challenges while maintaining a strong eye for visual detail and user experience.

You will lead major website initiatives, improve scalable systems, and help raise the standard for digital craftsmanship across the organisation.

Accountabilities

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will own the development and evolution of a high-quality marketing website while collaborating with design, marketing, and engineering teams. You will combine technical expertise with strong design judgement to deliver exceptional digital experiences that are fast, accessible, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

  • Take end-to-end ownership of the marketing website, ensuring it remains visually compelling, technically excellent, performant, and continuously evolving.
  • Build polished web experiences by translating high-fidelity designs into responsive, accessible, and production-ready interfaces.
  • Develop interactive experiences using modern frontend technologies while maintaining a strong focus on performance, usability, and quality.
  • Collaborate closely with brand, product marketing, growth, and creative teams to bring ambitious concepts to life through thoughtful implementation.
  • Lead complex website projects from initial concept through launch, balancing technical feasibility, timelines, and creative ambition.
  • Contribute to interaction design, animation, typography, layout decisions, and overall digital experience quality.
  • Improve frontend architecture, tooling, and workflows to create scalable systems that support future growth.
  • Champion strong engineering practices through clean code, thoughtful technical decisions, and mentorship of other team members.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled frontend engineer with exceptional design sensibility and experience building sophisticated digital experiences. You should be comfortable owning projects independently, collaborating across disciplines, and making decisions that balance technical excellence with creative quality.

  • Significant experience building production-ready websites using modern frontend technologies such as TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Motion.
  • Strong understanding of frontend performance, accessibility, maintainability, and engineering best practices.
  • Exceptional visual judgement with the ability to interpret and implement design systems, typography, spacing, animation, and layouts to a high standard.
  • Comfortable working directly in Figma and making informed design decisions when needed.
  • Experience creating scalable website architectures, design systems, and workflows that support consistency and efficiency.
  • Proven ability to lead complex web projects from concept to completion while managing technical constraints and stakeholder expectations.
  • Strong product judgement with an understanding of user experience, interaction design, and modern web standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with designers, marketers, and engineers.
  • A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with a passion for craftsmanship and continuous improvement.
