Senior Design Engineer - Piling
This challenging and exciting opportunity requires an individual with a good technical background and demonstrable experience in taking the responsibility for producing designs from within the piling, foundations and ground engineering sector.
Our client is a market leading ground engineering contractor. Their service offering includes restricted access and open sites and covers all disciplines and techniques for a wide variety of clients and project applications. They not only complete projects successfully and to the highest of standards at all times but also add value to their clients by giving them total support from the beginning to the end of each and every contract.
Due to continued expansion, an abundant pipeline of works, and the strategy to bring as many aspects of contracts in-house as possible, so as to offer clients a holistic turnkey package, our client is now looking to appoint a Senior Design Engineer. The successful candidate must be able to review enquiry documentations to determine the key considerations associated with proposed projects. Our client seeks a high calibre candidate with enthusiasm and drive to make an impact. You must have strong technical acumen coupled with a general passion for ground engineering. You will also have a professional approach and a keen eye for detail, along with excellent communication and IT skills.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
