SUMMARY
Gozney is growing rapidly, both in demand for our existing range of products and by adding exciting new products into the range. We set very high standards for quality and we’re constantly striving to ensure our products exceed our customers’ expectations of form, fit and function. We don’t stop designing with a product launch - each new product undergoes subsequent design development to drive further enhancements, deliver the best experience for our customers and make it as easy as possible for our suppliers to achieve our standards.
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will work closely with the Heads of Product, Engineering & our design team to help develop exciting new product concepts and then bring those concepts to life for our consumers. You’ll use your expertise in manufacturing processes to optimise designs for performance and manufacture. You’ll work closely with our supply chain to help achieve high-quality standards and optimal costs. You’ll make sure that we produce thorough data-packs on-time and on-budget to meet the operational requirements and timelines for our product release schedule. You will be responsible for leading new product developments through our NPL process and driving continuous product improvement & enhancement to the Gozney product range.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop the NPI team’s concepts towards a manufacturable solution.
- Create designs and drawings for manufacture.
- Manage costed BOMs from initial concept through to production.
- Product design and development from concept to product launch.
- Help drive designs through the NPL process, managing the design elements of projects, working alongside our Project Manager(s).
- In conjunction with Project managers, maintain project deliverables, costs/times.
- Highlight and resolve design issues. Modify designs, documents, and drawings.
- Review existing product designs, identify weaknesses, propose, implement, and monitor effectiveness of improvements.
- Develop designs through cost down programs to achieve target margins.
- Create strategy for the verification of the corrective designs and participate in validation & verification activities.
- Source parts as required, manage vendor issues as needed with our Ops team.
- Interact with CX, marketing, and sales teams as required to capture user needs and look for opportunities to improve products.
- Contribute to risk management activities, including the development of FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and DVP&R (Design Verification Plan & Report).
- Perform validation & verification testing for new product concepts and designs through the lifecycle of projects.
- Work closely with others in a team environment and to mentor more junior members of the team.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with design engineers at all levels and global locations.
- Share your skillset and experience with the rest of the team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in a comparable role, preferably within a related field, and ideally, with expertise in gas products.
- Possess a degree in Product Design or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum classification of 2:1.
- Showcase excellent proficiency in 3D CAD, particularly using SolidWorks or a similar software package.
- Experience with design tools - InDesign, Illustrator, and Composer is a benefit!
- Knowledge of DDM (product data management) is advantageous.
- Demonstrate knowledge of diverse manufacturing processes, with a focus on metalworking methods, including sheet metal and castings.
- Knowledge of design for injection Moulding is also an advantage.
- Showcase problem-solving skills, highlighting your ability to navigate challenges.
- Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting and root cause analysis, underscoring your capacity to address issues systematically.
- Produce design drawings to BS8888.
