Senior Design Engineer – Fire Suppression Systems
What You Will Do
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering medium-to-high complexity Fire Suppression System projects from post-sale through to successful implementation. You will be responsible for the design, configuration, and technical delivery of bespoke fire suppression solutions, utilising industry-leading design tools including AutoCAD and Building Information Modelling (BIM) applications. Working closely with customers, project teams, and sales colleagues, you will ensure solutions meet client requirements, project specifications, quality standards, and business objectives. In addition, you will provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers, supporting the continued development of engineering capability within the team.

How You Will Do It
- Design and engineer medium-to-high complexity Fire Suppression System solutions following project award.
- Produce detailed system designs, drawings, calculations, and technical documentation using AutoCAD, BIM, and associated engineering tools.
- Develop hardware designs and software programming solutions that meet project specifications and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with sales teams, project managers, and customers to ensure designs align with operational needs and project objectives.
- Perform quality reviews and design verification activities to ensure deliverables meet company and industry standards.
- Support project execution teams by providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and resolve complex engineering challenges through effective problem-solving and technical expertise.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices within the fire suppression industry.
- Mentor and support junior and intermediate engineers, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing design efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

What We Are Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 6 years' experience in fire suppression, life safety, or related system design engineering roles.
- Proven experience designing medium-to-high complexity engineered systems.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM, and other relevant design software applications.
- Experience in hardware design and software programming for engineered building systems.
- Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and customer service excellence.
- Experience mentoring or supporting the development of less experienced engineers.

- Experience within Critical Environments projects such as data centres, healthcare, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.
- Knowledge of relevant fire suppression standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Professional engineering accreditation or progress towards professional registration.
