The Role
The Senior Design Manager will take end-to-end ownership of design delivery across a portfolio of major logistics and data centre developments. Working closely with architects, engineers, specialist consultants and the construction team, you will ensure design quality, programme adherence and strong commercial outcomes across all stages from concept through to completion.
This is a high-impact position with real autonomy, sitting at the heart of the development process and interfacing across the full project team. You will play a key role in shaping how projects are delivered and will have access to long-term pipeline across multiple asset classes and geographies.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage design delivery across multiple concurrent projects from RIBA Stage 0 through to completion and handover
- Appoint, coordinate and manage the performance of multi-disciplinary design consultant teams and specialist advisors
- Own and drive design programmes, ensuring timely resolution of design issues and effective decision-making at each stage
- Act as the primary interface between the development, construction, commercial and planning teams on all design matters
- Manage the planning submissions and statutory approvals process, working closely with planning consultants and local authorities
- Ensure designs meet technical requirements, building regulations, planning conditions and internal development standards
- Review and approve technical submittals, RFIs, design change notices and contractor proposals
- Lead value engineering and design risk workshops, ensuring outcomes are commercially and technically sound
- Produce and present design progress reports to senior stakeholders and the wider project team
- Support business development activity, due diligence reviews and feasibility assessments on new opportunities

Requirements
- Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
- Significant experience in design management on large-scale commercial, industrial, logistics or data centre developments
- Strong working knowledge of RIBA stages and the full design and construction process
- Proven track record managing multi-disciplinary design teams from concept through to delivery
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage at all levels
- Solid understanding of planning legislation, building regulations and CDM requirements
- Experience working on developer or client-side programmes is preferred
- Proficiency in design management tools and document control platforms
- Membership of a relevant professional body (ARB, RIBA, ICE, CIOB or equivalent) is desirable
