We're looking for an experienced Design Manager to join our Legacy Division, leading the design management of complex remediation projects across residential developments.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong architectural or design engineering background and extensive knowledge of the Building Safety Act, fire remediation, and regulatory compliance. You'll play a key role in delivering safe, compliant, high-quality design solutions from initial surveys through to project completion and Gateway sign-off.

Working closely with project teams, consultants, contractors, regulators and clients, you'll take ownership of the entire remedial design process, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with all statutory requirements.

What You Will Do

As Senior Design Manager, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary internal and external design teams.
  • Manage the design process for remediation projects from feasibility through to completion.
  • Ensure designs comply with the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, PAS 9980, BS 9991, Approved Document B and all relevant legislation.
  • Develop and manage design programmes, information schedules and design deliverables.
  • Coordinate design information across contractor and subcontractor packages.
  • Oversee drawing management, document control and design registers using Asite.
  • Manage surveys and intrusive investigations, reviewing findings and developing compliant remedial solutions.
  • Support the achievement of PAS 9980 assessments and EWS1 B1 certification where applicable.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of Gateway 2 and Gateway 3 applications to the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Manage RFIs, design changes and change control throughout live projects.
  • Coordinate Golden Thread information and ensure all statutory documentation is maintained.
  • Liaise with Building Control, the Building Safety Regulator, Fire Authorities, Planning Authorities and other statutory bodies.
  • Work alongside Principal Designers and Health & Safety teams to ensure compliance with CDM Regulations.
  • Review technical submissions, specifications and consultant deliverables.
  • Attend site inspections, produce inspection reports and resolve technical issues during construction.
  • Support project teams with design-related commercial and programme matters.
  • Assist with final compliance documentation and qualifying assessments for MHCLG and other stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
