Job title: Senior Design Manager

Location: East Midlands

Salary: £85,000-£92,000 + basic package

We are working with a leading organisation within the construction sector to recruit an experienced Senior Design Manager to oversee design across tender and project delivery stages.

This is an excellent opportunity for a design professional to lead multidisciplinary teams, drive design strategy and ensure projects are delivered safely, sustainably, on programme and within budget.

  • Manage and coordinate design across tender and project delivery stages.
  • Lead design strategy, reviews and multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Develop and monitor design programmes aligned with project milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with design briefs, specifications, legislation and industry standards.
  • Manage design resources, change control and commercial requirements.
  • Drive innovation, continuous improvement and effective stakeholder collaboration.
  • Support successful bids and ensure high standards of quality, health, safety and environmental compliance.

About You:

  • Proven experience in a senior design management role within construction.
  • Experience across single-stage tenders and preferred terms procurement routes.
  • Strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness and programme management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation abilities.
  • HNC, HND or degree qualification, ideally with membership of a recognised professional body such as CIOB.
