Senior Design Manager
Location: Manchester
Salary: competitive (DOE) + package

I have an exciting position available for a Senior Design Manager to join a leading Tier one main building contractor. The contractor specialises in large education and other public sector work schemes varying in value from £20m - £50m.
Due to a number of new large developments, they are looking for a Senior Design Manager to join the team to work on delivering design information for new design and build projects.
You will be expected to review the technical aspects of details put forward by architects and engineers and co-ordinate changes with the Design team (including Structural Engineers, architects and external subcontractors) ensuring best value. You will be involved in Design team meetings to co-ordinate the building process, be confident to head these meetings, ensuring client updated and well informed throughout the building process.

Qualifications, training and technical knowledge
- HND/HNC/degree
- Member of an industry recognised professional institute for example CIOB
- Involvement with design strategy and approach
- Experience on both single stage tenders and preferred terms work procurement routes
- Experience on bidding and winning work
Attributes and skills
- Ability to work in a team environment contributing across a business unit or area
- Good management skills with the ability to motivate employees to achieve high standards of compliance
- Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills; able to manage projects simultaneously with compromising on standards and quality
- Sound knowledge of the construction industry.

- Excellent negotiation and diplomacy skills and the ability to make a sound business case to senior stakeholders
