Senior Design Manager - Large Mixed-Use Scheme in Suffolk
Fawkes & Reece are currently working with a leading main contractor who are looking to appoint a Senior Design Manager to join their team on a major development.
As Senior Design Manager, you will take a leading role in managing the design delivery of the project, working closely with the client, consultants, subcontractors and wider project team to ensure the design is coordinated, buildable and delivered to programme.
The Role:
- Lead and manage the design process from pre-construction through to delivery
- Coordinate design information across architectural, structural and MEP disciplines
- Manage consultants, subcontractors and specialist design teams
- Review technical information and ensure design compliance
- Identify and resolve design issues and clashes
- Work closely with the commercial and construction teams to ensure buildability
- Manage design programmes, deliverables and approvals
- Maintain strong relationships with the client and wider design team

The Candidate:
- Previous experience as a Design Manager / Senior Design Manager with a main contractor
- Experience working on large-scale, complex construction projects
- Strong technical design and coordination background
- Experience managing consultants and specialist subcontractors
- Residential, mixed-use or major development experience would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of the construction process and design management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
