Senior Design Manager – Mechanical
to £100,000 + travel | South London | M&E | Perm
This is a senior appointment for an experienced Mechanical Design Manager who knows how to lead a design function rather than simply manage their own package.
We are working with an established M&E contractor looking to appoint a Senior Design Manager to take responsibility for their mechanical design team.
Role Overview
You will be leading the team, overseeing the mechanical design process across multiple projects and making sure what is being designed is technically sound, commercially sensible and, importantly, buildable.
It needs somebody with a strong mechanical building services background who understands the realities of delivering M&E projects. You will be comfortable challenging designs, coordinating with project and commercial teams, dealing with consultants and clients, and providing direction when decisions need to be made.

Key Requirements
- Senior Design Manager / experienced Design Manager level
- Mechanical building services background is essential
- Experience working within an M&E contractor environment strongly preferred
- Proven experience leading or mentoring a design team
- Strong technical knowledge combined with a practical understanding of installation and delivery
- Location: South London
- Salary: up to £100,000 + travel
