Role Overview

This role involves leading design projects from concept to completion, focusing on both CAT A and CAT B fit-outs. You will work closely with clients to deliver tailored, future-focused spaces that are not only functional and visually impactful but also environmentally responsible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end design process on CAT A and CAT B commercial office projects.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand business needs, brand identity, and cultural values, translating these into innovative workspace solutions.
  • Produce concept sketches, mood boards, space plans, 3D visualizations, and technical drawings.
  • Conduct site visits and surveys.
  • Coordinate and oversee external consultants, suppliers, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Manage workload for multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met, budgets, and quality standards are maintained.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to regulatory standards, including health & safety, accessibility, and sustainability guidelines.
  • Champion sustainable design principles, integrating environmentally conscious solutions into every phase of the project.
  • Stay ahead of workplace trends, materials innovation, and design technologies to continuously evolve our design approach.
  • Direct post-project photo-shoots & write project content & case studies for website and social media.
  • Arrange relevant supplier visits (including lunch & learn dates).
  • Mentor junior designers.
  • Contribute to design direction for social media and website campaigns.
  • Provide the latest versions of design documents for administration to upload onto the website.
  • Contribute to internal design reviews and team development.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in commercial interiors, ideally within a design & build or fit-out environment.
  • Proven track record delivering both CAT A and CAT B office fit-outs from pitch through to handover.
  • Proficiency in design software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Revit (preferred).
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to inspire confidence and trust in clients.
  • Experience with BREEAM, LEED, WELL, or other sustainable building certifications is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial furniture, materials, finishes, FF&E, and sustainable alternatives.
