Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading high-end furniture company as a Senior Designer. You will be at the forefront of crafting innovative and commercially viable workplace environments using office furniture solutions. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, space planning expertise, and a strong understanding of furniture systems and workplace trends. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's workplace design offering and delivering exceptional solutions to clients.


Requirements

  • Lead the design of workplace environments aligned with client briefs, brand identity, and business objectives
  • Develop space planning, test fits, and detailed furniture layouts across a range of workplace typologies (corporate, co-working, education, public sector, etc.)
  • Translate workplace strategy, change management insights, and user needs into effective design solutions
  • Stay informed on workplace trends, sustainability standards, and emerging ways of working
  • Workplace consultancy – NextOffice workplace analysis
  • Support tender submissions
  • Specify office furniture, systems furniture, seating, storage, and ancillary products accurately and creatively
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of furniture standards, ergonomics, sustainability credentials, and compliance requirements
  • Produce high-quality design documentation including plans, elevations, 3D visuals, schedules, and specifications
  • Present design concepts confidently to clients and stakeholders, both visually and verbally
  • Present at knowledge seminars at our Showroom and Client site
  • Work closely with sales teams to support bids, tenders, and pitches with compelling design solutions
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, understanding both their functional and commercial drivers
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from concept through to installation support
  • Provide design leadership on projects, coordinating with project managers, installers, and external consultants
  • 5+ years’ experience in workplace design within the office furniture, commercial interiors, or workplace consultancy sector
  • Strong space planning and workplace design expertise
  • In-depth knowledge of office furniture systems and workplace products
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (or similar)
  • 3D max/or similar rendering software
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and ability to design within budget and programme constraints
  • Willingness to try something new
  • Highly creative with strong attention to detail
  • Confident design leader with a collaborative mindset
  • Client-focused and commercially aware
  • Proactive, organised, and able to work under pressure
  • Passionate about workplace design and the future of work
