Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for a highly creative and commercially minded Menswear Designer to lead the design and development of Topman's Outerwear and Tailoring categories. This role will be responsible for delivering trend-led, customer-focused collections that balance fashion authority, commercial performance and elevated product execution.
Working closely with Buying, Merchandising, Technical, Product Development and Marketing teams, you will drive category vision from initial concept through to final product, ensuring collections reflect Topman's evolving brand direction while maintaining a strong focus on fit, quality and value. Current category priorities include tailoring, outerwear, leather, suede, formal jackets, coats and occasion dressing.

What you're going to do...
- Lead the design and development of seasonal Outerwear and Tailoring collections.
- Research and interpret global fashion trends, cultural movements, catwalk influences and emerging customer behaviours.
- Build clear seasonal concepts, colour palettes, fabric strategies and key item architectures.
- Develop commercially viable product ranges that support both brand and business objectives.
- Drive innovation in silhouette, fabrication, construction and fit.
- Create detailed design packs, CADs and technical briefs for suppliers and product development teams.
- Collaborate with Technical and Product Development teams to ensure best-in-class fit, construction and quality standards.
- Analyse trade performance, customer feedback and returns data to identify opportunities and improve future ranges.
- Work closely with Buying and Merchandising teams to optimise product assortment and pricing architecture.
- Build strong supplier relationships to deliver innovation, speed and quality.
- Present design concepts and seasonal strategies confidently to senior leadership.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience within menswear design, ideally specialising in Outerwear and Tailoring.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern cutting, fit and manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and translate trends into commercially successful product.
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, washes, trims and sourcing opportunities.
- Experience working within a fast-paced fashion retail environment.
- Excellent CAD and Adobe Creative Suite skills.
- Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance creativity and profitability.
