My client, a market-leading, global, multi-billion-dollar AUM hedge fund, is looking to hire a Senior Desktop Engineer into its London office.
The successful candidate will join a small, highly collaborative technology team, taking a senior technical position within the end-user engineering function. This is a broad, hands-on role spanning L1 through L3 support, BAU and project work, with responsibility for supporting the firm's trading floor, senior executives, portfolio managers and wider global user base.
The environment is predominantly Microsoft-based, with technologies including Windows, Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory and Citrix/VDI. The successful candidate will act as a senior escalation point for more complex technical issues, while remaining comfortable getting involved across the full spectrum of desktop and end-user technology.

Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Providing L1 through L3 support.
- Engaging in BAU and project work.
- Supporting the firm's trading floor, senior executives, portfolio managers and wider global user base.
Ideal Candidate:
- 7+ years' experience within desktop/end-user technology.
- Experience supporting demanding users within a hedge fund, asset manager, wealth manager or similarly high-touch financial environment.
- Strong technical skills.
- Exceptional customer service and experience delivering a white-glove/VIP support model.
- Confident in supporting everyone from traders and portfolio managers through to senior executives and business owners.
Additional Points:
- Enjoy working in a smaller technology environment with broad responsibilities.
- Expected to take ownership of problems from start to finish.
- Identify and document recurring issues.
- Communicate with urgency and work closely with adjacent Systems, Infrastructure and Development teams.
- Scope to take on light team-lead and supervisory responsibilities.
- Interest in and practical exposure to AI and automation tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or other AI technologies would be highly advantageous.

This is a five-day-per-week, office-based position in London, reflecting the high-touch nature of the role and its proximity to the firm's users.
