Senior DevOps Engineer
At ENGIE, we accelerate the energy transition by building the digital platforms that power a sustainable future. Our B2B Supply UK team delivers the technology behind reliable, clean energy services for businesses across the country.
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build, and continuously improve the cloud platforms that underpin our internal and customer-facing digital services. You will ensure software delivery is secure, scalable, and efficient, enabling teams to move fast while meeting the demands of a regulated energy business.
What You'll Do
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Build, operate, and optimise CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable, repeatable, and secure software delivery.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks to ensure visibility of system health and rapid incident response.
- Embed security-by-design principles across platforms and pipelines, supporting compliance with ISO 27001, GDPR, and ENGIE policies.
- Mentor and support less experienced engineers, driving DevOps best practices and capability uplift across teams.
- Collaborate with development, data engineering, and operations teams to ensure systems meet availability, performance, and cost targets.
- Influence technical standards, tooling choices, and architectural decisions to improve resilience and operability.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
