Insight Global are seeking a Sr. Developer/Architect for a leading global financial services and trading technology organisation.

This is a permanent position and requires 4 days onsite, 1 day remote in London, UK.

The Architect & Senior Developer will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality software solutions across trading, operational, and regulatory platforms. This role will play a key part in defining and evolving enterprise architecture, modernising integration frameworks, and enhancing front, middle, and back-office systems. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient solutions while supporting the organisation's strategic technology initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing architecture across trading, clearing, and post-trade systems
  • Driving cloud adoption and DevSecOps best practices
  • Modernising data and integration strategies
  • Supporting regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Mentoring engineering teams on architecture principles and cloud-native development

Must-Have Requirements Include:

  • Strong expertise in.NET, C#, and SQL Server development and architecture
  • Extensive experience designing and delivering enterprise solutions within financial markets technology environments such as clearing brokers, investment banks, exchanges, or financial technology vendors
  • Deep understanding of the complete trade lifecycle, including order processing, execution, risk management, margining, collateral management, valuation, and give-up processing
  • Hands-on experience working with FIX protocol and exchange/CCP connectivity across venues such as CME, ICE, Eurex, LME, or similar
  • Proven experience with event-driven and microservices architectures
  • Strong background working with messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka and IBM MQ
  • Experience building and supporting real-time data platforms and distributed systems
  • Expertise with containerisation technologies and Azure cloud environments
  • Experience supporting cloud migration initiatives for regulated financial services workloads
  • Knowledge of financial services regulations including EMIR, MiFID II, CASS, MAR, DORA, CFTC, or similar regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive stakeholders
  • Experience producing architecture documentation, decision records, governance artefacts, and target-state roadmaps
  • Strong understanding of resilience, disaster recovery, security, and operational risk requirements within regulated environments

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Define and maintain architecture strategies across trading, clearing, and post-trade systems
  • Lead the modernisation of integration frameworks, APIs, and messaging architectures
  • Develop and govern enterprise data architecture to improve quality, security, and accessibility
  • Drive architecture standards, best practices, and governance across technology teams
  • Design highly resilient solutions that align with operational resilience and recovery objectives
  • Ensure technology solutions meet regulatory and compliance obligations by design
  • Support change management and incident management processes
  • Mentor engineers and development teams on architecture, cloud-native development, and engineering best practices
  • Champion DevSecOps, automation, and Infrastructure as Code initiatives
  • Support the organisation's approach to secure, explainable, and compliant AI adoption
