Senior Software Developer
📍 Near Chester | Hybrid (1 day per week to 1 day per month in the office)
💰 £55,000 - £60,000 + Excellent Benefits

Lead the development of intelligent software solutions powered by modern engineering and AI.
We're partnering exclusively with an innovative technology business that is investing heavily in both its engineering capability and AI adoption.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Software Developer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, influencing architecture and mentoring other developers while embracing modern AI-assisted software engineering.
You'll play a key role in designing scalable cloud-based solutions, driving engineering best practice and helping shape how AI is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.

The Opportunity
Working alongside experienced engineers, architects and product teams, you'll be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality software whilst providing technical leadership across projects.
This isn't simply a hands-on coding role.
You'll influence technical direction, improve engineering standards, mentor developers and help introduce AI-enabled development practices that improve both developer productivity and product quality.

What you'll be doing
- Designing and developing scalable, secure enterprise software solutions
- Influencing software architecture and technical design decisions
- Building modern REST APIs and distributed services
- Developing cloud-native applications within Azure
- Working with Infrastructure as Code, Docker and Kubernetes
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
- Mentoring developers and promoting engineering excellence
- Driving Agile delivery and collaborating closely with Product and Architecture teams
- Identifying opportunities to leverage AI throughout software development and product delivery
- Championing secure software engineering and continuous improvement
Essential Skills & Experience
We're looking for strong commercial experience across most of the following:
- C# /.NET development
- Azure Cloud
- REST APIs
- SQL and database design
- Docker & Kubernetes
- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- CI/CD pipelines
- Agile software delivery
- Software architecture and technical leadership
- Mentoring and coaching developers
AI Experience is Essential
We're specifically looking for engineers who already use AI as part of professional software development.
You'll ideally have commercial experience using tools such as:

- AI-assisted software engineering

This is a genuine requirement for the role rather than simply an interest in AI.
