Senior Development Executive

It's All Made Up Productions (IAMU) is looking for an exceptional Senior Development Executive to join our growing development team.

Founded by filmmaker Philip Barantini and producer Samantha Beddoe, IAMU is an independent film and television production company focused on creating bold, distinctive, character-driven work with some of the most exciting established and emerging talent in the industry.

As we continue to grow our slate across television and film, we're looking for a highly creative, ambitious and commercially minded Senior Development Executive who can help identify, develop and drive the projects that will define the next chapter of IAMU.

This is a senior creative role for someone with exceptional taste, strong relationships across the industry and, most importantly, the ability to turn great ideas into projects that broadcasters, streamers, financiers and talent want to be part of.

The Role

Working closely with the founders, Head of Development and the rest of the team, the Senior Development Executive will play a key role in originating, developing and packaging IAMU's film and television slate.

You will be expected to proactively seek out exceptional material, ideas, IP and talent; develop projects from their earliest stages; and help drive them towards packaging, financing and commission.

This is a hands-on role. We're looking for someone who loves the development process and is equally comfortable discovering a new writer, interrogating story in a script meeting, pitching a project to a commissioner, approaching talent or devising a strategy around what a specific project needs to move forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively originate and identify exciting ideas, IP, writers, directors and other creative talent for IAMU's film and television slate.
• Develop projects from initial idea through treatment, script, packaging, pitch and commission.
• Give intelligent, constructive and actionable editorial notes to writers and filmmakers.
• Build strong creative relationships with writers, directors, agents, producers and other talent.
• Identify emerging voices and champion new and underrepresented talent alongside established creatives.
• Package projects strategically, identifying the right writers, directors, cast and producing partners to give each project the strongest possible route to market.
• Maintain excellent relationships with UK and international broadcasters, streamers, studios, financiers and commissioners.
• Pitch projects confidently, both internally and externally.
• Understand the current film and television landscape and identify opportunities for IAMU while maintaining the distinctive creative identity of the company.
• Work closely with production, business affairs and external partners to ensure projects are creatively ambitious but also commercially and practically viable.
• Take ownership of projects across the slate, maintaining momentum and ensuring there is a clear strategy and next step for each.
• Support and contribute to the wider creative strategy and continued growth of IAMU.
