Salary: c£61.5k to £68k per annum (pay award pending)

Location: Selkirk, Scottish Borders

Hours and terms: Full-time Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

Closing Date: Thursday 24 September 2026, 5.00pm


We're looking for a Senior Development Manager to help lead SBHA's affordable housing development programme and play a key role in delivering great places across the Scottish Borders.

The Role:

As Senior Development Manager, you will lead the pre-contract development lifecycle for new-build and major refurbishment projects. This includes:

  • Feasibility
  • Planning
  • Funding and grant administration
  • Procurement strategy
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Risk management
  • Programme governance

You will work closely with the Construction Manager to maintain strategic oversight of programme and financial performance.

This is an opportunity to shape SBHA's development service, strengthen programme controls and support the delivery of high-quality, value-for-money affordable homes.

What we're looking for:

You will bring at least five years' senior-level experience in affordable housing development, regeneration or a similar field, together with strong leadership, commercial, financial and analytical skills. You will be confident advising senior stakeholders, preparing clear reports for governance bodies and building effective relationships with tenants, communities, partners, consultants, contractors and funders.
