We're looking for someone who has built their career as a strong software engineer before progressing into technical and people leadership, retaining the technical depth and credibility to support experienced developers and contribute meaningfully to complex engineering discussions.
You'll combine people leadership with technical direction, architecture and engineering standards, helping create an environment where developers can perform at their best while continuing to improve the quality, scalability and maintainability of large-scale software platforms.

- Provide strong technical leadership across the development function
- Support engineers with complex.NET and architectural challenges
- Help define technical direction and make pragmatic architecture decisions
- Drive engineering standards around code quality, testing and maintainability
- Conduct code and solution reviews and challenge technical decisions where appropriate
- Work closely with Product Owners, Architects and senior technology stakeholders
- Improve engineering processes, standards and ways of working
- Support the delivery of scalable, reliable enterprise software
- Create an environment where engineers can develop, progress and perform effectively

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
