This is a Fixed Term Position

The Senior Development Process Assurance Engineer provides independent quality assurance oversight of software, electronic hardware, and test equipment software development programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer, and company development processes.

This position assesses development process effectiveness, identifies program risks, supports corrective actions, and drives continuous improvement across the product development lifecycle while partnering closely with engineering, program management, and quality leadership. This role offers the opportunity to influence mission-critical aerospace programs and help ensure the successful development, certification, and delivery of advanced aerospace products.

As The Senior Development Process Assurance Engineer, You Will

  • Perform independent assessments, audits, and reviews of engineering development activities and work products to verify compliance with company processes, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.
  • Tailor standard assurance tools and methodologies to specific development programs while maintaining consistency with established Development Process Assurance requirements.
  • Evaluate engineering lifecycle activities including requirements management, systems engineering, design, implementation, verification, validation, configuration management, problem reporting, and change control processes.
  • Identify process nonconformances, gaps, and improvement opportunities; assess associated program risks; and work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure timely and effective corrective action closure.
  • Monitor project quality and process performance metrics and provide objective reporting to program and functional leadership regarding compliance status, emerging risks, and process effectiveness.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to engineering teams and management regarding development assurance expectations, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Lead organizational awareness and training efforts related to Development Process Assurance methodologies, requirements, and best practices.
  • Support regulatory, customer, and internal audits as required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve development processes, reduce waste, and enhance organizational effectiveness through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Travel to other Moog locations as required.

To be considered for the Senior Development Process Assurance Engineer position, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience supporting aerospace product development, development assurance, quality assurance, certification, or regulatory compliance activities.
  • Experience conducting audits, assessments, or compliance reviews against established engineering processes and standards.
  • Understanding of engineering lifecycle processes, including requirements management, systems engineering, verification and validation, configuration management, problem reporting, and change control.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify process risks and drive effective corrective actions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions.

It Would Be Nice If You Also Had

  • Experience supporting airborne software and/or airborne electronic hardware development programs.
  • Knowledge of aerospace development and certification standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, and ARP4754.
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE), requirements management, or modern engineering lifecycle management tools.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity considerations in aerospace product development.
  • Experience driving process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
