Following approval of our 12mppa planning application, Bristol Airport has an unprecedented period of change ahead with capital investment of £400m+. Our Infrastructure team is growing, we’re looking for an Development Project Manager to join us here at Bristol Airport to support our exciting growth plans.
We’re committed to Making a Difference to our people and our customers, and we are looking for an experienced Development Project Manager who can assure the financial and contractual delivery of projects up to the value of £50m. You’ll manage projects from inception to completion, collaborating closely with our project managers, project consultant teams and stakeholders to ensure internal financial governance is complied with at all times.
This role would suit an experienced Development Project Manager who has experience in delivering the entire project cycle within a busy operational environment.
More about the role
- Responsible for delivering our Terminal Transformation Fit-Out (TTFO) Shell & Core contract works phased over 18 months on site. TTFO is the transformation of the new extended and existing Airside Terminal Departure space, consisting of multiple phases and works streams to create new shell & core units and landlord circulations paces, ready for future retail and F&B fit-outs.
- Working with PMO function under-take resource planning and management for allocated projects ensuring that the BRS team (development and wider delivery team) have sufficient resources to achieve the master programme.
- Creation of schemes and management from inception to completion, including procurement and approvals from board, adhering to the new project procedures and process.
- Management of all schemes delivering projects on time and within budget. Ensuring all developments are run with close control of risks and their mitigation and health and safety of all projects.
- Ensure all projects are executed in line with airport and regulatory requirements.
- Creation and management of project sponsor and stakeholder liaison groups on projects, ensuring that communications are considered as a key aspect of all projects.
- Report on Key projects with time, quality, cost, risks and health safety being assessed on a monthly basis.
- Work effectively within the agreed handover process ensuring engineering as a key stakeholder take ownership of the asset once practically complete including all ppm contracted within project scope.
- Ensure that project reviews and close outs are managed with all necessary departments and the PMO function with all outcomes reported against investment criteria to understand any lessons learned. This detail will then be held in a central location to enable and inform more effective working practices moving forward.

About you
- Educated to a minimum degree qualified or equivalent and be Chartered in either APM or RICS.
- Experience in delivering multi-use complex schemes including retail and F&B.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with the ability to prioritise and communicate the task progression with Project managers.
- Detail level of accuracy on all tasks.
- Confident in building effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Good time management, prioritisation, and organisation skills, with the ability to work to strict deadlines.
- Experience in working in a fast paced environment with the ability to set expectations clearly.
- Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook & Teams)
- Previous experience working in a Project management / development / infrastructure environment and/or in a construction related environment.
