Senior DevOps Engineer
Type: Permanent
Start: ASAP
Salary: up to £85k p/annum
Location: Central London (limited travel ad hoc)
We’re looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing technology team supporting a large-scale eCommerce and digital estate.
You’ll take ownership of production and non-production environments, deployment pipelines, monitoring and operational excellence, while working closely with development, IT and third-party partners to deliver secure, resilient and scalable digital services.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines across Azure DevOps and GitHub.
- Support and optimise production environments, resolving complex incidents and problems.
- Drive monitoring, observability, performance and reliability improvements.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Pulumi or ARM.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure applications are designed for live supportability.
- Implement automation, proactive monitoring and preventative improvements.
- Support release, change and service transition activities.
- Promote DevOps, Agile and ITIL best practices across the team.
- Mentor colleagues and contribute to technical standards and continuous improvement.
- Ensure solutions meet relevant security, GDPR and PCI DSS requirements.

Key Technical Skills
- Strong Microsoft Azure experience across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, serverless and containers.
- Strong CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub.
- Infrastructure as Code – Terraform, Pulumi or ARM.
- Scripting with PowerShell, Python, YAML and/or TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of networking, DNS, routing, firewalls and load balancing.
- Experience with microservices and high-traffic web environments.
- Monitoring/observability experience with Dynatrace, Catchpoint or similar.
- Knowledge of CDNs, WAF, OWASP and application security.
- Experience supporting web/mobile applications, ideally within retail or eCommerce.
- Understanding of .NET, React/Vue and modern web technologies.
- Experience with databases and application performance optimisation.

Desirable
- Azure DevOps or Azure Architecture certification.
- Experience with ITIL / ISO27001.
- Azure MLOps / operationalising machine-learning models.
- Experience integrating AI/agent-based solutions into enterprise environments.
- Experience with Akamai or similar CDN platforms.
