About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a global asset management organisation to modernise and standardise build and deployment pipelines across a large application estate.
The organisation is looking for Senior DevOps Engineers to join a high-performing engineering squad focused on improving CI/CD, automation, security, and deployment practices across the business.
The Engagement
The team is undertaking a major initiative to standardise and modernise build and deployment pipelines across a diverse application estate.
The environment consists primarily of C#/.NET and Python services, with different teams having historically adopted their own build conventions, deployment mechanisms, and tooling.
The objective is to establish a small number of opinionated, reusable, and well-supported pipeline patterns that engineering teams can adopt with minimal bespoke configuration.
You will work closely with application engineering teams to design, implement, and roll out these standards, with a strong focus on:
- Repeatable CI/CD
- Automation
- Security
- Quality gates
- Observability
- Deployment consistency
- Developer experience
- Platform engineering principles
This is a hands-on engineering role, rather than a traditional operational DevOps position.
The Role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will take ownership of designing and implementing reusable build and deployment capabilities across the organisation.
You will work as part of a small team of experienced DevOps engineers, collaborating directly with application developers and technical stakeholders.
A key part of the role will be creating standardised GitHub Actions workflows that can be consumed by multiple development teams while supporting different applications and deployment environments.
You will also play a significant role in migrating existing pipelines away from legacy tooling and establishing modern CI/CD practices across the estate.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
CI/CD & Pipeline Engineering
- Design and develop reusable GitHub Actions workflows and pipeline templates.
- Build standardised CI/CD patterns covering:
- Build
- Unit testing
- Integration testing
- Static analysis
- Security scanning
- Packaging
- Artifact management
- Promotion
- Deployment
- Create modular and maintainable pipeline components for multiple application teams.
- Establish consistent pipeline standards across different technology stacks.
- Improve build performance, reliability, and developer experience.
- Automate repetitive build and deployment processes.
GitHub Actions & Enterprise GitHub
- Develop enterprise-grade workflows using GitHub Actions.
- Work with reusable workflows, actions, secrets, environments, and deployment controls.
- Establish appropriate controls around pipeline permissions and access.
- Help application teams migrate existing processes into standard GitHub-based workflows.
- Promote best practices around source control, branching, releases, and deployment automation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
