Who we are

Clearly is a fleet management intelligence platform on a mission to bring clarity to one of the most data-rich yet analytically underserved industries in the world.

Fleet operators today are drowning in fragmented data, with little ability to turn that data into actionable insight. Clearly solves this by acting as the intelligence layer above existing fleet infrastructure: unifying disparate telematics streams, applying AI-powered analytics, and delivering the Total Cost of Ownership visibility that enterprise fleet operators need to make smarter decisions at scale.

We're a small, ambitious team moving fast. Every person we hire has a direct impact on the product, the culture, and the trajectory of the company. We're backed by strong commercial traction and a clear vision, and we're looking for people who want to build something that matters from the ground up.

About the role

We're a small engineering team, and you'd be our first dedicated infrastructure engineer. The platform works and serves customers in the US and Europe. It was built by product engineers moving fast, so most of it is automated but not all of it is standardised. You'll own how it's built, deployed and run as fleet sizes and data volumes grow.

Our environment: AWS (Lambda, ECS/Fargate, EC2, RDS, S3, SQS/EventBridge), ClickHouse, Python, Docker and infrastructure as code.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you'll do

  • Own our multi-region AWS platform (serverless, event-driven, one database per tenant) and the infrastructure as code behind it
  • Make our high-volume ingestion and analytics pipeline reliable and ready for much larger customers
  • Build safe, repeatable CI/CD and observability that catches problems before customers do
  • Own security and access across production, including customer security reviews
  • Own production reliability: observability, incident response, root-cause analysis, runbooks and disaster recovery. Ensuring incidents lead to durable engineering improvements rather than repeated operational fixes.
  • Own cloud spend and unit economics, so cost per vehicle falls as we scale

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years in DevOps, platform, SRE or cloud engineering, with deep hands-on AWS in production
  • Strong experience with serverless and event-driven systems (Lambda, SQS/SNS) and with infrastructure as code (CloudFormation/SAM, CDK or Terraform)
  • Solid networking, IAM and Postgres operations fundamentals
  • Production-quality Python
  • Strong understanding of cloud cost optimisation and infrastructure unit economics

Nice to have

  • ClickHouse or other analytical/time-series databases
  • Telematics, IoT or other high-volume ingestion
  • Experience with data warehousing and big data
  • dbt, Railway or Vercel
  • SOC 2 / ISO 27001

What success looks like

  • Every environment can be rebuilt from code, and deploys are routine and reversible
  • A new region or a customer 10x larger is a config change, not a project
  • We know what it costs to serve each vehicle and each customer, and that number falls as we grow

Why join us?

We're at the frontier of an industrial sea-change of a scale greater than the birth of the internet. Clearly is your opportunity to work with next generation technology and build at a pace and enablement level never seen before. We are explicitly trying to get the capabilities we as builders have at our fingertips, into the hands of everyday workers throughout the Fleet Management industry.

  • Monthly budget to spend on your own tools to enable you to learn new platforms and capabilities
  • Meaningful stake in the business - if we win you win
  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • Flexible hybrid working arrangements
  • Private Healthcare (including dental and optical cover)
  • Monthly wellness allowance (gym, cycle to work, etc.)
  • Dog-friendly office
  • Outstanding career progression opportunities
  • Ability to help shape our benefits package as we grow
