Stockport / Remote | 12-month contract | Inside IR35 | Up to £500/day
This Senior DevOps Engineer contract is initially 12 months, with extensions considered likely, and will initially involve approximately 2–3 days per week onsite in Manchester with mostly remote working once established.
We're looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a cloud engineering team delivering a major programme of infrastructure and platform change, including migration from on-premise environments into Google Cloud Platform.
This is a great opportunity for a Senior DevOps Engineer who enjoys hands-on engineering, cloud transformation and project delivery rather than spending the majority of their time supporting BAU environments.

What you'll be doing As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you'll work across cloud infrastructure design, build, architecture and automation, with an initial focus on the migration into GCP. You'll be working with technologies including:
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Kubernetes / GKE
- Linux
- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- Ansible
- Bash / Python
- Cloud networking and security
- AWS where relevant
The team is focused primarily on delivering new projects and engineering solutions, with longer-term operational support handed over to TechOps.
What we're looking for For this Senior DevOps Engineer position, strong hands-on GCP experience is essential. You'll also need:

- Strong Kubernetes experience
- Solid Linux systems administration knowledge
- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience
- Cloud infrastructure and networking knowledge
- Experience with automation and scripting
Ansible and AWS experience would also be valuable, alongside wider experience across CI/CD, cloud security and infrastructure automation.
