Tempest Vane Partners have partnered with one of the world's leading multi-strategy hedge funds, known to be at the forefront of technology and innovation. They are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their Platform Engineering team in London.
The team builds the infrastructure that enables engineers, researchers and investment teams to develop, deploy and run software at significant scale.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on CI/CD, Kubernetes, automation and platform reliability, working across both cloud and on-premise environments.
The Role
You’ll help build and evolve the platforms behind millions of software builds and production workloads, improving the speed, resilience and autonomy of engineering teams. You'll work closely with software engineers to automate the SDLC, strengthen production reliability and build scalable infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and optimise CI/CD platforms and deployment automation.
- Engineer scalable Kubernetes and container platforms.
- Develop infrastructure and automation using Python/Go and Terraform.
- Improve observability, reliability and fault tolerance across critical services.
- Build and maintain highly available platform services and APIs.
- Work across AWS and on-premise infrastructure.
- Partner with engineering teams on platform adoption, automation and best practice.
- Take part in on-call and production incident response.
Key Requirements
- 7+ years in DevOps, SRE or Platform Engineering.
- Strong Python or Golang development skills.
- Deep CI/CD experience — Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy or similar.
- Strong Kubernetes and containerisation experience.
- Proven Infrastructure-as-Code experience, ideally Terraform.
- Experience with high-throughput, distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of observability and production reliability.
- Experience building or supporting REST APIs.
- Comfortable operating across AWS and on-premise environments.
- A genuine software-engineering mindset rather than purely operational experience.
