What if your infrastructure could change how millions of people experience mental health?
We're building clinically safe, evidence-driven AI that expands access to trusted mental health support and we're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who wants their work to genuinely matter.
The Role
This is a high-ownership, high-impact position at the heart of Velora, our generative AI support programme for anxiety and depression that went live with its first partner in July 2026.
You'll own the infrastructure and delivery platform Velora runs on: Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes, and the pipelines that move code from commit to production. In a team of roughly fifteen engineers, your work is visible and your decisions matter.
Two things make this different from most senior DevOps roles: 🏥 It's a regulated healthcare platform - Velora processes protected health information and is positioned as a low-risk medical device. The delivery pipeline is part of our control environment, and the evidence auditors ask for should fall out of the system, not be assembled by hand. 🔧 We want range, not just depth - this is a two-person DevOps function. Infrastructure and reliability are core, but we'd particularly love to hear from engineers who have also shipped application code. If you've been on the receiving end of a broken pipeline, you tend to build better ones.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'll Be Doing
☁️ Own infrastructure as code - reproducible from a git clone, with cloud spend within your remit yours to manage and optimise
🚀 Fix and accelerate the build and deploy path - deployment frequency and lead time are numbers we expect to see move
⚙️ Run our Kubernetes environment (AKS) - workloads, Helm, ingress, RBAC, autoscaling, upgrades, and day-2 troubleshooting
📊 Build meaningful observability - so any engineer can answer "is my service healthy, and if not, why?" without opening a ticket for you
🔒 Embed security and compliance into the delivery path - secrets, dependency and image scanning, TLS, and automated SOC 2 evidence
🚨 On Call and Lead incident response - post-incident reviews that change the system, not just the runbook
You'll Thrive Here If You...
✅ Have several years of production ownership of Azure infrastructure as the person accountable when it broke
✅ Have built and owned Terraform in a team - modules others consumed, remote state, peer review, running in production
✅ Can point to CI/CD pipelines you took from infrequent, anxious releases to frequent, boring ones
✅ Know Kubernetes at operator and day-2 depth - including debugging failed rollouts in a live cluster
✅ Write code as well as configuration - Python, TypeScript or C#, plus PowerShell and Bash
✅ Are a resourceful problem solver - you fix things at their source rather than buying a tool to sit on top
