About the Role
As our Senior DevOps Lead, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering secure, scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure across EcoOnline. Sitting within our CloudOps team in R&D, you will work closely with software engineers, product managers and senior cloud leadership to accelerate product delivery through modern DevOps practices, automation, observability and continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on senior leadership role for someone who enjoys combining technical depth with team influence. You will help build future-proof DevOps solutions, improve deployment speed and reliability, and support the delivery of high-quality software that helps protect people and the planet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, deployment and continuous improvement of scalable, secure and reliable cloud infrastructure across AWS and modern cloud-native environments.
- Own and deliver key CloudOps initiatives, ensuring best practice across security, reliability, cost management, automation and observability.
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools such as Terraform and other scripting languages.
- Partner with the VP Cloud Operations and development teams to help define and evolve EcoOnline’s cloud strategy, ensuring design and delivery remain aligned.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, platform and service issues across test and production environments, including participation in out-of-hours support where required.
- Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, support code and infrastructure reviews, and help grow the capability of the CloudOps team.
- Champion modern DevOps, GitOps, Kubernetes, automation and AI-enabled tooling to improve engineering efficiency and product quality.
- Contribute to agile ceremonies including stand-ups, planning and retrospectives, helping the team deliver with urgency, quality and accountability.
What we're looking for:
- 5+ years’ experience in SysAdmin, DevOps, SRE or CloudOps roles, with strong hands-on experience building and supporting production cloud infrastructure.
- Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform alongside Kubernetes, Docker and GitOps practices.
- Confident working with CI/CD tooling, automation and scripting languages such as Python, Bash or PowerShell.
- Experience across AWS, with a strong understanding of cloud security, reliability, observability and cost management best practice.
- Previous mentoring or line management experience, with the ability to guide engineers, coordinate technical initiatives and provide constructive feedback.
- A collaborative, agile mindset with excellent communication and documentation skills, comfortable partnering with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Exposure to AI technologies, especially frontier LLM models or AI-enabled tooling, and an interest in applying innovation to improve DevOps ways of working.
