Contract type: Permanent

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

We're looking for talented Senior Digital & UI Designers to create intuitive, accessible and visually compelling digital experiences that delight customers and support business growth.

Working within cross-functional product squads, you'll combine user insight, product thinking and exceptional visual design skills to shape experiences across our web and mobile platforms. You'll play a key role in evolving Royal London's design system and helping establish design excellence across our growing digital community.

This is an opportunity to influence products used by millions of customers while working alongside product managers, engineers and fellow designers to solve meaningful customer problems.

About the role

  • Shape end-to-end experiences across web and mobile products, from concept through to delivery.
  • Create prototypes and high-fidelity designs that solve customer and business problems.
  • Contribute to and evolve Royal London's design system, ensuring consistency and quality across products.
  • Collaborate with researchers, product managers and engineers to shape product direction and prioritise opportunities.
  • Champion accessibility, inclusive design and best practice across all customer experiences.
  • Use customer insight, data and experimentation to continuously improve digital products.
  • Support and influence stakeholders by presenting design solutions and articulating design rationale.

About you

  • Significant experience designing digital products and services within agile product teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and modern design workflows.
  • Strong visual design skills across typography, layout, interaction and responsive design.
  • Experience designing for web and mobile platforms, ideally across complex customer journeys.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
  • Experience working with and contributing to design systems.
  • Ability to use customer insight, research and data to inform design decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions through design.
  • Experience within Financial Services or another regulated environment would be advantageous.

We'd particularly love to hear from you if you have experience in one or more of the following areas:

AI & Digital Platforms

  • Delivering AI-enabled products or digital capabilities.
  • Experience working with financial industry standards such as Open Banking
  • Bringing innovative technologies into regulated environments while balancing customer, risk and regulatory considerations.

Mobile App

  • Delivering Mobile App functionality for customers
  • Supporting effective and safe deliveries as part of agile squads
  • Liaising with Development and test colleagues to drive continuous improvements to our services on Mobile Apps
