About Tekifi
Tekifi is an independent smart buildings advisory firm. We work client side across smart building strategy, security, BMS and controls, audio visual, technical standards and specifications, design assurance, existing building optimisation and data and integration strategy. Our value is independent advice that holds up under scrutiny from designers, contractors and operators alike.
We are growing our London presence and this is a senior appointment with genuine scope to shape it.
The role in short
This is a client-facing consultancy role for someone who is comfortable being the most senior technical voice in the room. You will lead workshops, author the deliverables, manage the commercial relationship and win the next piece of work.
Ideally you also bring exposure to physical security and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems. That is a preference rather than a hard requirement, but it is the differentiator we are most interested in.
What you will be doing
Leading client engagements
- Chair client and design workshops, technical working groups and progress meetings, including sessions with MEP consultants, main contractors, systems integrators and client operations teams
- Set the agenda, drive the technical discussion to a decision and own the actions that come out of it
- Act as the day to day client contact on your projects and hold the relationship
Technical delivery and authorship
- Write smart building strategies, technical specifications, design review reports, feasibility studies and technology roadmaps
- Review contractor and consultant design submissions, and set out clear, defensible positions on where they fall short
- Develop system architectures covering BMS and controls, master systems integration, IP networking, metering and monitoring, and data layers
- Support clients through tender, procurement, commissioning witnessing and handover

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Physical security and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) (desirable)
- Advise on access control, CCTV and video management, intruder detection, intercom and visitor management
- Set out how security and ELV systems converge onto the building network alongside BMS, lighting and AV, including network segregation and reasonable cyber hygiene
- Coordinate the security design interface with architects, MEP designers and the client's own security team
Business development
- Identify and pursue new opportunities with existing and prospective clients
- Write and price fee proposals, and negotiate scope and commercial terms
- Build a personal network in the London market and represent Tekifi credibly at industry events
