Are you a detail-focused, technically skilled and resilient team player? We are seeking a Senior Digital Evidence Technician to join our Digital Forensics Unit (DFU) at Nottinghamshire Police.
🚀 What you'll do
As a Senior Digital Evidence Technician, you'll play a vital role in supporting criminal investigations by recovering, analysing and presenting digital evidence from a wide range of devices. You'll provide technical expertise, mentor colleagues and help ensure the highest forensic standards are maintained across the unit.
Key responsibilities include:
- Examining and preparing digital devices for forensic investigation.
- Acquiring and analysing digital evidence from mobile devices, computers and other digital media.
- Producing evidential reports and court-ready material to support investigations and prosecutions.
- Providing technical guidance to investigators and supporting examination strategies.
- Mentoring technicians, students and apprentices within the team.
- Conducting quality assurance activities, audits and peer reviews.
- Supporting the day-to-day operation of the Digital Forensics Unit and maintaining evidential integrity throughout.

💡 What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with:
- Experience working within an accredited forensic science or digital forensics environment.
- Knowledge of digital devices, operating systems, networking and forensic processes.
- Experience extracting and analysing digital evidence from a variety of devices and systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to explain complex technical information clearly to a range of audiences.
- Experience supporting colleagues, technical processes and quality assurance activities.
- A resilient and professional approach when working with potentially distressing material.
- A degree in Digital Forensics, Forensic Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
