SENIOR DIGITAL MARKETING EXECUTIVE
Location: London / Hybrid
Salary: £38k + bonus
Team: TEMBO Marketing Agency
Reports to: Head of Digital
Role: Full-time
ABOUT TEMBO
TEMBO is a specialist marketing, content, people, training and consultancy business working across the global events, exhibitions, media and information industries.
Our MARKETING AGENCY works as an extension of our clients' teams, combining deep sector expertise with smart, commercially focused marketing.
As our digital capability continues to grow, we're building a stronger specialist digital team to help our clients make better use of paid media, data, technology and AI to drive measurable results.
We're looking for a Senior Digital Marketing Executive to become a key part of that team.
THE ROLE
This is a hands-on digital marketing role with a strong focus on Google Ads, PPC and performance marketing.
You'll take ownership of paid search activity across a portfolio of client campaigns — from research and campaign build through to optimisation, reporting and recommendations.
We want someone who is curious about why something is or isn't working, who enjoys digging into the numbers, testing new approaches and finding ways to improve performance.
You'll work across multiple clients, campaigns and markets, particularly within the events and B2B sectors, so you'll need to be comfortable managing competing priorities and switching quickly between accounts.
You'll also have the opportunity to work across the wider digital marketing mix, including paid social, analytics, tracking, landing pages, CRM and emerging AI tools.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
PPC & Google Ads
You'll take a leading hands-on role in our paid search activity, including:
- Building, managing and optimising Google Ads campaigns.
- Keyword research, audience research and competitor analysis.
- Developing campaign structures across Search, Display, Performance Max and remarketing where appropriate.
- Writing and testing high-performing ad copy.
- Managing budgets, bids and campaign pacing.
- Monitoring search terms and continually improving targeting and negative keyword strategies.
- Improving Quality Scores and overall account efficiency.
- Running A/B tests across campaigns, creative and landing pages.
- Identifying opportunities to improve conversion rates and reduce acquisition costs.
- Troubleshooting underperforming campaigns.
- Keeping up to date with changes across Google Ads and the wider paid media landscape.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Performance & Analytics
You'll use data to understand what is actually driving results.
That will include:
- Monitoring and analysing campaign performance.
- Working confidently with GA4 and Google Tag Manager.
- Ensuring conversion tracking is correctly configured and reliable.
- Building and maintaining useful reporting and dashboards.
- Analysing traffic, conversion, CPL, CPA, ROAS and other relevant performance metrics.
- Turning campaign data into clear recommendations for clients and internal teams.
- Spotting trends, problems and opportunities before somebody has to ask.
- Helping ensure marketing decisions are based on evidence rather than assumptions.
Wider Digital Marketing
While PPC will be at the heart of the role, you'll also contribute across the wider digital mix, including:
- Paid social campaigns, particularly LinkedIn and Meta.
- Remarketing and audience strategies.
- Landing-page optimisation and CRO.
- SEO and search visibility.
- CRM and marketing automation.
- HubSpot and other marketing technology.
- AI-powered marketing tools and emerging digital channels.
- Supporting integrated digital campaigns across the wider TEMBO Agency team.
CLIENT WORK
We're an agency, so being good with people matters as much as being good with platforms.
You'll:
- Work directly with clients to understand their objectives.
- Translate commercial goals into measurable digital campaigns.
- Explain performance clearly without hiding behind digital jargon.
- Present results and recommendations confidently.
- Challenge briefs constructively where you can see a better approach.
- Manage client expectations around budgets, performance and timescales.
- Build trusted relationships with the clients you support.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You'll ideally have 3–5 years' digital marketing experience, either agency-side or in a hands-on performance marketing role.
You'll need strong practical experience of:
- Google Ads / PPC – essential.
- Google Analytics 4.
- Google Tag Manager.
- Conversion tracking and campaign measurement.
- Campaign optimisation and performance analysis.
- Managing meaningful paid-media budgets.
- Excel / Google Sheets and working confidently with data.
Experience with some of the following would be a strong advantage:
- LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
- Meta Ads Manager.
- HubSpot.
- Looker Studio.
- SEO.
- CRO and landing-page optimisation.
- B2B lead generation.
- Events, exhibitions, conferences or media.
- International digital campaigns.
- AI tools and their application to marketing.

Google Ads certifications are useful, but evidence that you can actually run and improve campaigns matters considerably more to us than badges.
THE PERSON
We're looking for someone who is:
- Commercial. You understand that clicks and impressions aren't the end goal. Marketing needs to generate registrations, leads, sales and revenue.
- Analytical. You enjoy getting into the data and working out what it is telling you.
- Curious. If a campaign suddenly improves or deteriorates, your instinct is to find out why.
- Proactive. You don't wait for somebody to tell you that something needs optimising.
- Detail-oriented. You understand that a tracking error, incorrect budget or badly configured campaign can have real consequences.
- Confident. You're comfortable explaining your thinking and making recommendations to clients and colleagues.
- Fast-moving. Agency life means multiple clients, deadlines and priorities. You can keep control without needing everything to happen one thing at a time.
- Always learning. Digital marketing is changing incredibly quickly. We want somebody excited by Google, automation, AI, data and what's coming next.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Within your first six months, we'd expect you to:
- Confidently own day-to-day PPC activity across a portfolio of TEMBO clients.
- Have a strong understanding of each client's commercial objectives and KPIs.
- Improve the quality and consistency of campaign optimisation and reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance without waiting to be asked.
- Build strong relationships with clients and the wider Agency team.
- Help TEMBO continue developing a genuinely strong performance marketing capability.
- Bring new ideas, tools and techniques into the team as digital marketing evolves.
WHY TEMBO?
You'll join a growing specialist business where good ideas can move quickly.
You'll work with major organisations across the international events and media industries, have genuine ownership of your campaigns and be encouraged to experiment, learn and challenge how things are done.
Most importantly, we want you to understand the client's business, understand what they're trying to achieve and use digital marketing to help them get there.
