Role: Senior Digital Product Manager x 2 (Member Acquisition & Member Engagement)

Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week in our Clapham Junction office, 2 days remote

We're The Gym Group...

We’re one of the UK’s leading fitness businesses. With more than one million members, 265+ gyms and ambitious plans to keep growing, we’re the UK’s second-largest gym operator by membership and the fourth largest in Europe. Our mission is simple: to break down barriers to fitness for all. We’re large enough to make a meaningful difference, but agile enough for individuals to influence how we grow. Technology, data and new ideas play a central role - and you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership, challenge how things are done and see the impact of your work. Just as importantly, we’re a people-first business where everyone is encouraged to be themselves. We’ve been named one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work and awarded Investors in People Gold, alongside a host of other awards recognising our culture and our people.

About the role(s)...

We’re hiring two Senior Digital Product Managers to join us at an important point in the development of our digital product practice. These roles will help shape how we acquire, engage and retain members across our digital journeys, while strengthening the way we use discovery, experimentation and evidence-led product thinking across the team.

Both roles need strong product craft. You’ll be expected to work across the full product lifecycle, from identifying the right problems to solve, through discovery, prioritisation, experimentation, delivery and optimisation. You’ll work closely with Product Design, Engineering, Data and business stakeholders to create clear product direction and deliver measurable customer and commercial outcomes.

One role will focus more heavily on Member Acquisition, improving conversion, growth and commercial performance across the joining journey. This would suit someone with experience in e-commerce, trading, subscriptions, membership, marketplace, travel, retail or another high-volume consumer digital environment.

The other role will focus more heavily on Member Engagement, improving the ongoing app and digital experience for existing members. This would suit someone with experience owning or improving mobile apps, logged-in account journeys, membership products, service products or customer engagement experiences.

Across both roles, we’re looking for people who can raise the standard of product thinking around them. You don’t need to have formally line-managed other Product Managers, but you should be able to show how you bring structure, curiosity, challenge and evidence-led thinking into the teams you work with.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Key responsibilities

  • Own product direction for your domain, aligned to TGG strategy, customer needs and commercial goals.
  • Translate business and customer problems into clear outcomes, opportunities, hypotheses and priorities.
  • Lead continuous discovery, using customer research, behavioural data, commercial evidence and operational insight to identify the right problems to solve.
  • Work closely with Product Design and Engineering as part of a product trio or similar cross-functional model.
  • Use experimentation, prototyping, A/B testing and other validation methods to test assumptions before committing significant investment.
  • Build evidence-led roadmaps and make clear prioritisation recommendations, balancing customer value, commercial impact, feasibility and confidence.
  • Define meaningful success measures and use KPIs, OKRs or other outcome measures to understand product health and progress.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through delivery, maintaining focus on the customer and commercial outcomes we are trying to achieve.
  • Measure the impact of what we release, using learning and evidence to decide what to do next.
  • Build trusted relationships across Commercial, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Technology and other teams, creating alignment around problems, outcomes and priorities.
  • Influence senior stakeholders through clear, evidence-based recommendations and confident navigation of competing priorities.
  • Contribute to the development of our product practice, helping build a culture of curiosity, experimentation and outcome-led decision making.

About you...

  • You’ll have strong experience as a Product Manager, Senior Product Manager, Product Lead or equivalent, owning digital products, propositions or product domains.
  • You’ll have experience across the full product lifecycle, with particular strength in discovery, experimentation and outcome-led product thinking.
  • You’ll be able to talk in detail about real product decisions you’ve made: the problem, the evidence, the options considered, the trade-offs, the experiment or release, and the measurable impact.
  • You’ll have hands-on experience of experimentation, ideally including A/B testing or similar approaches.
  • You’ll be confident using qualitative and quantitative evidence to make product decisions and measure outcomes.
  • You’ll have strong commercial acumen, with the ability to connect product opportunities to measurable business value such as conversion, revenue, engagement, retention, lifetime value or customer experience.
  • You’ll be comfortable working in cross-functional teams with Product Design, Engineering, Data and senior business stakeholders.
  • You’ll be able to influence without relying on authority, especially where stakeholders have competing priorities or strong views about the solution.
  • You’ll bring curiosity, structure and good judgement, helping teams focus on the right problems rather than simply delivering more output.

For the Member Acquisition role, we’d be particularly interested in experience improving acquisition journeys, conversion funnels, checkout/joining journeys, revenue, growth or trading performance.

For the Member Engagement role, we’d be particularly interested in experience improving mobile apps, logged-in customer journeys, account management, customer engagement, repeat usage or retention. Experience working with native or cross-platform app teams, app release cycles, app store submissions or app store optimisation would be valuable.
