About GoShorty

GoShorty is a rapidly scaling insurtech and one of the UK’s leading short-term insurance providers - fast, flexible cover for when people need it. Our products span car, van, learner, taxi, motorhome and more, with policies starting from as little as one hour. We are stripping the friction out of traditional insurance by offering flexible short-term cover, leveraging deep data, and creating beautiful digital insurance experiences.

We’re a data-rich, digitally native business with a direct relationship with our customers across a growing product range, each with its own distinct audience and buying behaviour. We deliver highly optimised digital customer experiences through both our transactional website and our apps.

We have strong foundations: comprehensive insurer partnerships providing broad underwriting footprints, a sophisticated marketing platform, rich first-party data, and a proprietary real-time trading technology stack.

We believe in giving people freedom, staying curious, always standing on your side, being relentless and keeping things simple. We’re looking for someone who brings those same values to the way they work.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and grow our nascent digital product owner function. As the first dedicated product owner for digital customer experiences, you will own the end-to-end customer lifecycle across our web platforms and native iOS/Android mobile apps.

You will bridge the gap between complex insurance logic and delightful, frictionless user interfaces. This is a highly collaborative role partnering with our insurance, data science, marketing, commercial and engineering teams to scale our user footprint and drive conversion, core retention and customer LTV metrics.

What You’ll Own

You will be responsible for our entire customer-facing digital experience across all our insurance product lines, bringing those products to life for our customers; driving ongoing engagement and repeat business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own the digital roadmap - Drive the vision, lifecycle strategy, and delivery for all consumer-facing channels (Web, iOS, Android).
  • Backlog and execution - Manage, refine, and prioritise the customer experience backlog, translating complex business needs into precise user stories, clear acceptance criteria, and actionable developer tickets.
  • Lead multi-platform app delivery - Partner with native app developers, web and back-end engineers to ensure cross-platform feature parity and coordinated releases.
  • Drive data-led conversion - Map performance marketing acquisition, funnel metrics, app conversion rates and insurance KPIs to feature design, to boost quotes, sales and repeat business. Build hypothesis and test impact through continuous a/b testing and other feedback loops.
  • Stakeholder champion - Collaborate with insurance product owners, marketing and compliance to ensure all digital touchpoints remain regulatory compliant while keeping user experience joyful and frictionless.

What We Are Looking For

You are a highly motivated and dynamic digital insurance product owner with at least 5 years’ experience working in a fast-paced product-oriented insurer, Insurtech or fintech.

Key experiences and capabilities:

  • Personal lines insurance domain fluency - Experience working within direct-to-consumer personal lines insurance, preferably motor insurance products.
  • App & web product pedigree - A proven track record of shipping highly rated native mobile apps and complex web applications. Experience with UX design including fluency with Figma or equivalent and working with 3rd party design agencies.
  • Data-obsessed & KPI driven - Deep familiarity with consumer insurance metrics (e.g., funnel metrics, conversion rates, retention and repeat rates, CPA, LTV, and NPS).
  • Scale-up mindset - High adaptability, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and a history of working in fast-paced agile environments.
  • Local to Greater Manchester - Able to reliably commute to our Poynton office for in-person collaboration, sprint planning, and team workshops.

Why GoShorty

GoShorty is a small company by design. There’s no sprawling org chart, no layers of sign-off, and no sense of being a cog in a machine. Everyone gets involved in everything - because the work is better for it, and because that’s just how we operate.

The team genuinely like each other, and that shows. We socialise regularly - from impromptu nights out to a summer party and business year kick off and an epic Christmas trip that’s become something of a tradition (Munich last year, Dublin the year before). These aren’t tick-box team events; they’re something people really look forward to.

The pace here is real, and people care deeply about what they’re building. That means the team tends to stay connected and engaged beyond the standard nine-to-five - not because they’re told to, but because they’re invested in making GoShorty a success. If you’re the kind of person who finds that energising rather than draining, you’ll fit right in.

Why This Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious, scaling insurtech as we expand our product offerings and distribution channels, taking ownership of and shaping a new function within the business as our first dedicated digital product owner.
