  • Opportunity to mentor and help develop more junior sellers as the team grows

The Opportunity

  • Fortune Media is seeking a Senior Business Development Director to generate significant revenue as a senior individual seller while helping expand and strengthen its UK and European commercial business
  • Working closely with the VP, Growth, this role will support execution of the commercial strategy across the UK and European markets
  • The role will drive growth across media, events, strategic partnerships, and leadership community platforms while helping develop new revenue streams
  • The Senior Business Development Director will focus primarily on originating and closing major partnerships while contributing to the broader development of Fortune’s commercial presence across the UK and Europe’s most influential business markets
  • This is a high impact role for a commercially ambitious executive who combines strong strategic thinking with hands-on deal-making and the ability to build long term client partnerships

Key Mandate

  • Generate significant revenue as a senior individual seller
  • Contribute to the growth of Fortune’s commercial business across the UK and Europe
  • Expand Fortune’s strategic partnerships and integrated media business
  • Help develop new revenue streams across events, leadership communities, and content platforms
  • Build long term relationships with global brands, agencies, and senior business leaders
  • Support the continued expansion of Fortune’s commercial footprint across key UK and European markets

Key Responsibilities:

Revenue Generation

  • Generate significant personal revenue through large integrated partnerships and sponsorships
  • Develop multi platform partnerships spanning events, digital, content, print, and leadership communities
  • Drive growth across Fortune’s integrated commercial platform

Strategic Partnerships

  • Build senior relationships with global brands, agencies, and institutional partners
  • Lead complex commercial partnerships and multi market deals
  • Increase average deal size and long term client value

Market Development

  • Identify new sectors, clients, and growth opportunities across the UK and European markets
  • Help expand Fortune’s commercial relationships across key industries and markets
  • Contribute ideas for new partnerships, products, and revenue opportunities

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the VP, Growth and the UK and European commercial team to support regional revenue goals
  • Collaborate with editorial, marketing, product, and community teams to deliver integrated partnerships
  • Share best practices and support the development of the broader commercial team
  • Mentor and help develop more junior commercial team members as the organisation grows

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Experience

  • 12 to 15 years in senior commercial roles within B2B media, partnerships, events, or integrated marketing environments
  • Proven success generating significant revenue as an individual seller
  • Track record of closing large, complex commercial partnerships ($250K to $1M)
  • Experience working across UK and European markets

Capabilities

  • Strong personal deal making ability combined with strategic commercial thinking
  • Deep experience in consultative selling and integrated partnership models
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior client stakeholders
  • Ability to build trusted long term client relationships

Leadership Style

  • Commercially ambitious and results driven

  • Comfortable working across editorial, product, marketing, and events teams

Key Success Metrics

  • Achievement of 100%+ annual revenue targets
  • Individual revenue contribution of $2.5M to $3M annually through large integrated partnerships
  • Year one focus on building a pipeline and strategic partnerships with revenue ramping toward the full target
  • New revenue streams or clients contributing at least 20% of annual revenue growth
  • At least 15% of revenue is recurring year to year
  • Strong pipeline discipline and forecasting accuracy
  • Responsible management of T&E budgets
  • Expansion of strategic partnerships and multi-platform deals

Compensation Range: OTE around £180-210K/ Year
