Senior Director, Costa Coffee Global Master Data Management
We are looking for a Senior Director, Costa Coffee Global Master Data Management, to join our team. This role leads an 8-member strong Costa Coffee Global Master Data Management team which is part of a group called Global Master Data Management in the Global Digital Network, Data & Intelligence Tower. This is a vibrant and highly motivated group that collaborates across different data domains.

The Senior Director, Costa Coffee Global Master Data Management, is responsible for defining and executing the Costa Coffee Global Master Data Management (MDM) strategy, operating model, governance framework, and operational roadmap. This role ensures trusted, high-quality master data assets are available across machine, customer, vendor, cost center, pricing, chart of authority and digital business processes.
The Senior Director leads global Costa Coffee master data operations and transformation initiatives that drive profitable growth, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and accelerated decision-making across all regions. The role serves as the executive owner of master data governance, data quality, stewardship, and outsourced operational services, ensuring data is managed as a strategic enterprise asset for the Costa Coffee Business. Additionally, the role will partner with data authoring platform owners to ensure modernization that drives operational efficiency and enhanced governance capabilities.
Working closely with executive leadership, business functions, technology teams, and external service providers, this leader establishes scalable global capabilities that improve data accuracy, reduce process complexity, support innovation, and enable data-driven growth across the Costa Coffee business portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
Global Master Data Strategy & Transformation
- Define and execute the enterprise Master Data Management vision, strategy, and operating model for Costa.
- Establish a multi-year roadmap that aligns master data capabilities to business growth objectives, digital transformation priorities, and emerging market requirements.
- Drive global transformation initiatives that improve data quality, accelerate time-to-market, and simplify business processes.
- Identify opportunities to standardize master data practices across regions while balancing local business requirements.
- Develop business cases and investment strategies that demonstrate measurable business value and operational return on investment.
Master Data Governance Leadership
- Establish and maintain enterprise governance frameworks, stewardship models, policies, standards, and controls across master data domains.
- Drive accountability for data quality, ownership, stewardship, and lifecycle management throughout the organization.
- Partner with business and technology leaders to define governance priorities and resolve cross-functional data challenges.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and data management best practices.
- Champion a culture of data accountability and stewardship across the enterprise.

Global Master Data Operations
- Lead global master data operations supporting Costa Coffee machine, customer, vendor, cost center, pricing, chart of authority and digital business processes. As well as other data domains that might be added to the operating model.
- Ensure operational processes deliver timely, complete, accurate, and trusted master data to business users and downstream systems.
- Establish operational KPIs, service level agreements, and performance management frameworks.
- Drive execution excellence through optimized workflows, process standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure master data services effectively support product launches, acquisitions, market expansions, and business transformation initiatives.
Platform & Technology Leadership
- Collaborate with platform owners to drive the strategic direction of enterprise Master Data Management platforms and supporting technologies.
- Support selection, implementation, modernization, and optimization of MDM technologies and associated data management capabilities.
- Partner with architecture, engineering, and analytics teams to enhance data accessibility, scalability, automation, and business usability.
- Drive adoption of modern master data capabilities including workflow automation, intelligent data quality controls, reference data services, and data syndication.
- Ensure platform capabilities support enterprise reporting, analytics, AI, and digital business initiatives.
Vendor & Managed Services Leadership
- Establish and manage strategic relationships with external service providers, implementation partners, and technology vendors.
- Lead outsourcing strategies and operational transitions that improve service quality, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Oversee performance management, contractual obligations, and service delivery outcomes across managed service providers.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation through strategic partner engagement.
- Ensure operational resiliency through effective governance, controls, and business continuity planning.
Data Quality & Business Performance
- Establish enterprise-wide data quality objectives, metrics, monitoring capabilities, and remediation processes.
- Drive improvements in master data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness.
- Ensure trusted data supports operational execution, financial reporting, analytics, and strategic decision-making.
- Monitor performance trends and implement corrective actions to improve organizational outcomes.
- Enable business leaders to leverage high-quality data as a competitive advantage.
Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing global master data organization.
- Build organizational capabilities through talent development, succession planning, mentoring, and coaching.
- Establish clear accountability and performance expectations across global teams and external partners.
- Promote collaboration across regional, functional, and technology organizations.
- Foster an inclusive and data-driven culture that supports innovation and continuous learning.
Executive Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary executive sponsor for master data initiatives across Costa Coffee.
- Partner with senior business leaders to prioritize investments and align master data capabilities with business strategies.
- Influence decision-making across functions including Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, Procurement, Technology, and Digital.
- Communicate complex data management concepts to executive and non-technical audiences.
- Facilitate alignment between business priorities and technology investments.

Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related discipline. Master's Degree preferred.
- Professional certifications in Data Management, Data Governance, Enterprise Architecture, Agile Delivery, or Program Management preferred.
Related Work Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, Enterprise Data Management, or related disciplines.
- 7+ years of leadership experience managing global teams, strategic programs, and enterprise data initiatives.
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide MDM transformations and operating model redesigns.
- Experience implementing and scaling modern Master Data Management platforms and governance frameworks.
- Experience managing large-scale technology implementations and digital transformation programs.
- Proven track record building business cases, securing executive sponsorship, and delivering measurable business outcomes.
- Experience managing strategic vendors, systems integrators, and managed service providers.
- Experience operating within multinational and matrixed organizations.
- Experience supporting consumer products, beverage, retail, manufacturing, supply chain, or franchise business models preferred.
