This role is accountable for how secure connectivity services are architected, delivered, and operated across the enterprise, with a strong focus on OT, export-controlled environments, Zero Trust, and site connectivity.
Job Description
You will lead a global team providing end-to-end Secure Network Services, including enterprise firewalls, network segmentation, OT and site connectivity controls, and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) for users. Your work directly impacts the security, reliability, and productivity of GE Aerospace’s global manufacturing, engineering, and office operations.
What You’ll Do
Own Secure Network Services to the Enterprise
- Define and manage the Secure Network Services strategy, service catalog, SLAs, and KPIs, ensuring services are reliable, effective, and aligned to business, OT, and regulatory/export control needs.
- Execute service roadmaps that bring consistency, Zero Trust-based patterns, and scalability to secure connectivity across sites, cloud edges, and remote access.
- Partner with the Executive – Cyber Services to align Secure Network Services with the overall Cyber Services strategy and portfolio.
Lead Secure Site Connectivity (OT, Export Control Vaults, Site Perimeters)
- Own secure connectivity services for OT/ICS environments, Export Control Vaults, and site perimeters, including perimeter firewalls, internal segmentation, and inter-site connectivity.
- Define and maintain standard zoning and segmentation patterns that reduce lateral movement and protect critical manufacturing and engineering assets.
- Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and plant leadership to ensure connectivity designs balance safety, reliability, regulatory/export obligations, and cyber risk.
- Lead secure connectivity design for new sites, major expansions, and OT modernization programs.
Deliver Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) User Connectivity
- Own the ZTNA service that provides secure, user-centric access for on-site, remote, and third-party users, guiding the transition from traditional VPN to Zero Trust access patterns.
- Integrate ZTNA with identity, device posture, and application access policies to enforce least privilege and strong authentication.
- Partner with infrastructure, collaboration, and application teams to improve user experience while maintaining strong network security controls.
Operate and Improve Secure Network Services
- Establish robust processes for service health, incident response handoffs, and change management for Secure Network Services.
- Own key service and risk metrics (availability, performance, security events, policy change quality) for secure connectivity, driving continuous improvement using lean/FLIGHT DECK principles.
- Partner with the SOC and incident response teams to ensure strong monitoring, logging, and response for network security events (firewalls, ZTNA, segmentation breaches, etc.).
- Drive automation and standardization in firewall policy management, configuration, and deployment to reduce risk and improve speed.
Lead and Develop the Secure Network Team
- Lead direct reports and a global team of ~11 network security specialists and engineers.
- Build a high-performing, diverse team and a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor managers and senior engineers, growing technical depth in OT networking, Zero Trust, and export-controlled connectivity.
- Collaborate with peers in Secure Development, Secure Endpoint & Collaboration, and Application & Cloud Security to deliver integrated Cyber Services.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
