Our Team: How we enrich everyday life
You will join our Group Data & Decision Sciences (DDS) leadership team, helping shape the future of data across our Audio business and the wider Group. Our model is deliberately federated: expertise remains close to the businesses and functions, while Group DDS provides the shared architecture, platforms, standards and specialist capability needed to operate effectively at scale.
Our team brings together expertise across Data Architecture, Engineering, Analytics, Product & Delivery, Data Science and Transformation. Together, we are building trusted, secure and scalable data capabilities that empower teams across Audio, Publishing, Outdoor and central business functions to deliver greater value through data.
The Difference You Will Make
This is a newly created leadership opportunity that will play a pivotal role in expanding Bauer Media Group's data capability across the organisation. You will lead the technical vision for our data estate, ensuring that our architecture, platforms and engineering practices support long-term growth, innovation and operational excellence.
As Senior Director, Data Architecture, Data Engineering & Platforms, you will provide credible, strategic leadership and set Group direction while remaining close enough to technology to challenge designs, guide decision-making and support high-performing technical teams.
Your Role
You will work across all lines of business, markets and central functions, partnering with their business, data and technical leaders, to establish shared foundations and technical standards whilst preserving local expertise.
- Defining and evolving the data architecture, technical strategy and transformation roadmap for the wider Bauer Media Group.
- Building and developing architecture, engineering and platform capability.
- Leading Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering teams.
- Establishing technical governance, data quality, lineage, observability, governance and architecture assurance.
- Leading data platform modernisation initiatives including migration, simplification and legacy decommissioning.
- Partnering with Enterprise Technology, Enterprise Architecture, AI teams and business stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
