Job Summary

The Senior Director, Global Digital Infrastructure reports to the Senior Vice President, Global Design and Construction (GDC), and is part of a core GDC leadership team. This is a key, senior leadership role at Equinix—the world leader in interconnection—driving global strategy, policy, execution, and architectural standards for global ICT infrastructure, networks, and communication systems.

Equally, the leader focuses on continuous modernization, digital transformation, and scalable innovation, ensuring industry best-in-class resilience, security, and sustainable connectivity solutions for internal operations and global customers.

Responsibilities

Overall leadership and strategy implementation

  • Set and optimize end-to-end global ICT strategy, enterprise architecture, and infrastructure deployment processes
  • Analyze and direct the application of emerging ICT technologies (e.g., dark fiber tethering, AI-driven networking, cloud-hybrid frameworks, edge computing) to enhance global business agility
  • Lead, structure, and develop a best-in-class global ICT team focused on operational excellence, engineering precision, and modern infrastructure delivery
  • Shape a collaborative, transparent, and entrepreneurial culture in tight coordination with global network engineering and Operations leadership teams
  • Lead and motivate diverse, cross-functional engineering teams around a shared digital vision aligned with aggressive global growth prospects

Support key programs and initiative implementation

  • Act as the primary technical decision-maker for global ICT infrastructure, defining global standards for internal corporate networks, external customer-facing platforms, campus connectivity, and stand-alone sites
  • Formulate standards and frameworks for ICT deployment across all Equinix data centers inclusive of ISP/OSP
  • Lead and manage global ICT Innovation & Development, network engineering, and infrastructure lifecycle management programs
  • Provide local knowledge and insight to key stakeholder
  • Collaborate closely with Global Networks, Corp Dev, Operations, and Procurement teams to effectively source, deploy, and commission global ICT hardware and fiber
  • Partner with regional business leaders to ensure ICT Playbooks, connectivity SLA requirements, and data center technology standards meet operational needs

Identify opportunities for process improvement

  • Develop a strategic roadmap for ICT automation, cloud integration, establishing clear assimilation protocols
  • Evangelize core ICT philosophies regarding ultra-high reliability, rigorous cybersecurity, cost-efficiency, and tech-stack modernization to internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Provide master budget, capacity, and architectural planning as part of Equinix’s capital investment planning, tech refresh cycles, and executive review processes
  • Act as thought leader and influencer within GDC
  • Oversee detailed technical review processes with regional ICT teams to ensure GDC designs meet global performance baselines and security policies
  • Evaluate and opine on proposed deviations or localized variances to standard global ICT policies, frameworks, or vendor choices
  • Lead the productization and standardization effort for major infrastructure network and fiber working closely with global procurement and supply chain management
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Construction, Data Center Operations, Sales, Product, Marketing, and Corporate Development to represent and execute all corporate ICT requirements
  • Engage with strategic technology partners and vendors to evaluate product roadmaps and incorporate cutting-edge advancements into Equinix's ecosystem

Qualifications

Domain Expertise, Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, computer science, or construction project management, or related field
  • Extensive experience of progressive enterprise data centers with a proven track record of successfully leading large, globally distributed ICT infrastructure teams and programs, including proven track record of leading Director+ teams (as manager of managers)
  • Deeply caring about technology infrastructure, operational resilience, team development, and the long-term success of the business
  • Highly knowledgeable in modern enterprise ICT disciplines, including AI infrastructure, dark fiber connectivity, and OSP construction
  • Proven experience managing large-scale capital budgets for a global enterprise
  • Ability to clearly translate highly complex technical architecture into concise, business-oriented insights that non-technical corporate executives can easily understand
  • Demonstrated ability to create, analyze, and leverage metrics-driven management dashboards (KPIs/SLAs) to ensure rapid, data-backed operational decision-making
  • Ability to work seamlessly and influence outcomes within a highly matrixed, global business environment spanning diverse cultures, time zones, and regional regulatory frameworks

Responsabilités
