Senior Director, Sales Engineering (EMEA)

As the Senior Director of Sales Engineering for EMEA, you will serve as a pivotal technical and strategic leader driving the region’s pre-sales execution and go-to-market performance. In this high-impact role, you will lead a high-performing team of Solution Engineers, act as the strategic technical face for EMEA, and partner closely with C-level executives, sales leaders, and channel partners to accelerate revenue growth and elevate customer security outcomes.

About the Team

The EMEA Security Sales Engineering team partners closely with Sales in a pre-sales capacity to position and deliver Rapid7’s security portfolio. They seamlessly bridge the gap between deep technical conversations with security engineers and strategic business discussions with CIOs and CISOs.

About the Role

As a Senior Director, Sales Engineering EMEA, your primary responsibility will be to lead, scale, and transform the EMEA pre-sales organization while acting as the strategic technical authority for the region. Specifically, your focus will be to:

  • Lead and mentor a geographically, culturally, and language-diverse team of Solution Engineers across EMEA, driving leadership development and clear career pathways.
  • Champion the regional evolution from traditional product demos toward consultative, outcome-based security solutions.
  • Serve as the visible industry expert for the EMEA region, presenting strategic security solutions to C-level executives.
  • Partner with sales, marketing, and product teams on go-to-market strategy while establishing models and artifacts to forecast pre-sales growth accurately.
  • Execute country-level revenue acquisition and retention goals in close collaboration with EMEA sales leadership and channel partners.
  • Act as the voice of the customer internally, collaborating with Engineering, Product Management, and Product Marketing to align customer use cases with product strategy.
  • Maintain hands-on involvement in core pre-sales activities, including leading strategic POCs, running high-impact demos, and supporting enterprise deal execution.
  • Deliver visionary content at regional conferences and industry events to position Rapid7 as a thought leader in the security landscape.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
