Who are we?

Equinix is the world’s digital infrastructure company®, shortening the path to connectivity to enable the innovations that enrich our work, life and planet.

A place where bold ideas are welcomed, human connection is valued, and everyone has the opportunity to shape their future.

A career at Equinix means being at the center of shaping what comes next and amplifying customer value through innovation and impact. You’ll work across teams, influence key decisions, and help shape the path forward. You’ll find belonging, purpose, and a team that welcomes you—because when you feel valued, you’re empowered to do your best work.

The Senior Director, Sovereign AI – FSI

The Senior Director, Sovereign AI – FSI will lead Equinix’s sovereign AI strategy for the financial services industry (FSI), shaping vertical narratives and value propositions, ecosystem partnerships, and market engagement across EMEA and globally. The role will serve as the strategic authority on EMEA FSI AI-sovereignty trends and market opportunities, translating evolving regulatory and infrastructure requirements into differentiated, monetizable customer propositions.

Working beyond the sales organization, this leader will collaborate with Product, Marketing, Channel, Digital Infrastructure Operations, Business Development, Customer Success, strategic partners, and regulatory stakeholders to establish Equinix as a leader in sovereign AI for the EMEA FSI market. The role requires a credible external voice, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to turn complex regulatory, technical, and political dynamics into practical customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Sovereign AI strategy and monetization

  • Define and lead Equinix’s sovereign AI strategy for FSI across EMEA, with global relevance, and convert market, regulatory, and customer requirements into a clear commercial roadmap.
  • Develop differentiated FSI vertical narratives, value propositions, use cases, ROI tools, and competitive positioning that enable field teams and partners to monetize sovereign AI opportunities.
  • Own the agentic AI infrastructure narrative for regulated FSI environments, including the infrastructure, governance, security, data-residency, and interoperability requirements of agent-to-agent workloads.

Regulatory deliverables and reference architecture

  • Deliver three priority regulatory outputs: a DORA Articles 28 and 30 due-diligence pack; an EU AI Act-aligned sovereign AI reference architecture for regulated industries; and a CLOUD Act response brief for European customers navigating US-jurisdiction risk.
  • Build the sovereign AI reference architecture and blueprint demonstrating how Equinix’s neutral, operator-agnostic infrastructure addresses AI-sovereignty requirements and differentiates from hyperscaler-operated facilities.
  • Translate EUCS, NIS2, DORA, GDPR, the EU AI Act, SecNumCloud, BSI C5, NCSC frameworks, national equivalents, and infrastructure-procurement requirements into practical guidance for customers, partners, and field teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
