Senior Director - UK Construction - Major Capital Projects
Do you want to work for a specialist Construction practice that is one of Aon's strategic priorities providing risk solutions to businesses across a large number of sectors within the UK?
Are you able to develop and onboard new opportunities in major UK Greenfield Capital Projects with values in excess of £500m and with Tier 1 and 2 contractors?

What the day will look like
As a Senior Director in our UK Construction practice you will:
- Unlock Mega-major capital projects and Tier 1&2 contractor opportunities using your market knowledge and expertise to identify their needs, positioning Aon as their risk and insurance partner of choice.
- Develop tailored revenue proposals using insights from similar clients and the full range of Aon services to ensure profitable, value‑adding propositions.
- Collaborate with Project Management, Broking, and international Aon offices to ensure seamless delivery against the agreed proposition.
- Shape and contribute to client service propositions, taking a leading role where required in customisation, quality control, and presentation materials.
- Work closely with Claims colleagues to build a strong, differentiated Claims proposition for each new client.
- Build strong internal relationships—particularly across Client Management, Client Services, and specialist teams—to select the right experts for each prospect pitch.
- Ensure full compliance with Aon Business Rules, FCA regulations, and all statutory requirements.

What Makes This Role Different
This is an origination focused role within Aon’s specialist UK Construction practice where you'll take the lead on unlocking and winning major capital construction projects and Tier 1&2 contractor opportunities. You’ll take a highly consultative approach, using deep sector knowledge, benchmarking (including GRIP), claims insight and Aon’s full range of risk solutions to create genuinely differentiated propositions, all while working flexibly in a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary environment with access to expertise across the UK and globally.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Growth mindset and Construction expertise in major capital projects plus Tier 1&2 contractor insurance experience are essential.
- A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the major clients and insurance carriers in this sophisticated niche of construction insurance.
- Professional style – ability to impact and impress in 1:1 prospect meetings.
- General commercial awareness.
- Results focused.
- IT literate with experience using databases.
