Are you an experienced Pharmacy Technician looking to take the next step in your career? Do you have a passion for delivering high-quality patient care, leading teams, and driving service improvements? If so, Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Dispensary Pharmacy Technician – Management Support to join our dynamic pharmacy team at the Royal London Hospital.
In this exciting Band 5 role, you will provide senior managerial support within our busy dispensary, helping to ensure the accurate, safe, and timely dispensing of medicines for inpatients, outpatients, clinics, discharge prescriptions, and controlled drugs. Working closely with senior pharmacy staff, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the dispensary, supporting workload organisation, staff supervision, governance compliance, and service delivery.
- Responsibilities:
- Monitoring key performance indicators
- Supporting stock management
- Participating in audits
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of pharmacy services
- Maintaining high standards of patient safety
- Supporting efficient patient flow and reducing delays in discharge
- Supporting the supply of discharge prescriptions, inpatient requests, clinics prescriptions, and controlled drug prescriptions
- Assisting in leading the day-to-day running of the in-patient pharmacy dispensaries
- Assisting the dispensary senior staff in ensuring good stock management and keeping wastage to a minimum
- Ensuring the department keeps up to date with governance regulations
- Supporting the dispensary manager and senior pharmacy team with the day-to-day management of the dispensary, including organisation of workload, KPI monitoring, and supervision of all staff in the dispensary
- Carrying out medicine management duties on the wards
- Conducting audits for controlled drug management, medicines management, TTA pack management, and FP10 management
