This role offers the opportunity to build and scale the distributed infrastructure powering global, data-intensive platforms.
The Senior Distributed Systems Software Engineer will design highly reliable backend systems focused on real-time data synchronization, streaming, and cloud-native architectures.

Accountabilities
The Senior Distributed Systems Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing large-scale distributed systems that support real-time data movement and synchronization. The role requires strong technical ownership, problem-solving abilities, and collaboration with engineering and product teams to deliver scalable solutions that meet complex business and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant backend services supporting real-time synchronization and streaming workflows.
- Optimize systems for performance, including latency, throughput, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Drive architectural decisions related to multi-region deployments, disaster recovery strategies, and global data residency requirements.
- Build and improve cloud-native infrastructure supporting high-volume data processing and distributed applications.
- Own projects from initial design through production delivery, including requirements gathering, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders to develop practical solutions aligned with user needs and business objectives.
- Analyze system bottlenecks and implement improvements through experimentation, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Enhance platform automation, observability, incident response processes, and operational reliability.
- Contribute technical expertise and guidance to improve engineering practices and system architecture.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have strong experience building and operating high-performance distributed systems, with expertise in backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale data platforms. This role requires a technically skilled professional who can work independently, communicate effectively, and solve complex engineering challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications And Skills Include
- Proven experience designing, building, scaling, and troubleshooting distributed systems and backend infrastructure.
- Experience developing data synchronization platforms, event streaming systems, or large-scale data movement solutions.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architectures, real-time APIs, and cloud-native deployment patterns.
- Experience working across major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Go, Python, or Java.
- Familiarity with SQL and database technologies used in large-scale production environments.
- Strong knowledge of system optimization techniques, including performance analysis, scalability improvements, and reliability engineering.
- Experience with messaging systems, distributed data processing, and modern infrastructure practices.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage projects independently and deliver high-impact outcomes.
- Experience supporting rapidly growing products, platforms, or services is highly valued.
